Position Summary:
The C & I Field Technician II position is to perform routine site maintenance of the inverters, transformers, combiner boxes, trackers, modules, BESS units, etc. Field Technician 1 will work closely with senior Field Technicians to improve their knowledge and skills in the solar industry. **Must live in and around Bronx**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Inspect, maintain and support repair of inverters, trackers, BESS units and other systems on sites.
· Support routine testing and repair of AC and DC electrical circuits.
· Travel to troubleshoot and support repair of faulty equipment around all C&I sites
· Travel to perform Bi-annual and annual maintenance on all C&I sites
· Manage all the sites inventories and equipment.
· Ensure site safety and security.
· Observe safety electrical testing and apply LOTO to ensure a safe working environment for maintenance and repairs.
· Log and record all activities performed in computer maintenance management system HEIS 2.0.
· Adhere to all site safety requirements including LOTO, PPE, and safe working practices.
· Perform all solar and/or Bess site activities not listed above.
· Work with site contacts/facility managers to schedule visits to the facilities
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
· Required:
o Basic computer and Microsoft Office suite experience
o Basic electrical principles knowledge
o Basic understanding of common hand tools
o Travel upwards of 75% of the time
· Preferred:
o Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programs
o Electrical testing equipment knowledge (multimeter, IV Curve Tracer, etc.)
o Basic SCADA system monitoring and application experience
o 1-2 Years solar experience (Commercial and Industrial preferred)
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
· Required:
o Ability to mostly work in an outside environment
o Lifting items greater than 35 pounds
o Walking on uneven ground
o Ability to handle temperature extremes.
o Able to wear and safely utilize all PPE required to perform tasks.
o Ability to work at heights or climb tall ladders
