Monmouth University is seeking dynamic educators to join our team of dedicated faculty as Specialist Professor in the Master of Science degree Physician Assistant Program. We are hiring for a 12-month, non-tenure track opening which are available for the 2025-2026 academic year. The initial two-year appointment is subject to subsequent multi-year reappointments without limit.

We are looking for innovative, engaged professionals who have a passion for educating the next generation of PAs. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to teach the equivalent of 27 credits per academic year of classroom, simulation-based, lab, and/or administrative duties related to clinical instruction. Primary responsibilities include team teaching across the curriculum and supporting student instruction where needed. Other responsibilities include:
- prepare course materials;
- create, administer, and grade written and practical examinations;
- maintain a regular schedule of office hours for student advising, tutoring, and remediation;
- engage in program evaluation, student admissions, student evaluations, and curriculum development;
- contribute to activities related to program development, continuous quality improvement, and accreditation; and
- be available for other University, School and/or program service as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities: - Teaching responsibilities for this 12-month faculty position include the equivalent of 27 credits per academic year of classroom, online, lab, simulation-based, and/or administrative duties related to clinical instruction.
- Preparation and delivery of course materials, including but not limited to syllabi; grading rubrics; classroom, online, lab, simulation-based and/or clinical learning instructional materials; course assignments; and examination development, proctoring, analysis and grading.
- Maintain a regular schedule of office hours for student advising, tutoring, and remediation.
- Engage in the following program activities as needed: a) developing, reviewing and revising the mission statement, goals and competencies, b) selecting applicants for admission, c) providing student instruction, d) evaluating student performance, e) academic counseling of students, f) assuring the availability of remedial instruction, g) designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum, and h) evaluating the program.
- Involvement with the program's continuous self-assessment, quality improvement, self-study report processes, and other accreditation requirements.
- Service to the University, School, and/or program as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: - Master's degree or higher in a related field.
- Three years of full-time experience as a NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) or physician (residency experience can be counted toward this requirement).
- Applicant must be a Physician Assistant holding active NCCPA certification and eligible for state licensure in NJ or a Physician (DO or MD) with completion of medical residency.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience as full-time, adjunct faculty or as a preceptor preferred but willing to train motivated candidates.
