Overview
QuickBooks is on a mission to help businesses grow with us as their business grows. A key element is evolving QuickBooks business intelligence to provide business leaders, from solo entrepreneurs to CFOs, with a constant understanding of their business performance and actionable insights to increase revenue and profitability. We seek a visionary Principal Product Designer with strong interaction design skills, cross-functional experience, and expertise in data-driven design to shape the business intelligence ecosystem. You will partner cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, data analysts, and marketers to transform static analytics dashboards into proactive, personalized, and agentic experiences across QuickBooks.

What you'll bring

• 10+ years of experience in product design, preferably in large-scale products
• Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels
• Expertise in design systems, interaction design, and visual craft
• Proven track record of leading impactful design solutions across complex products and platforms
• Ability to convey ideas through storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping
• A portfolio demonstrating user-centered design principles and mastery of craft
• Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams to drive outcomes
• Strong analytical skills to interpret qualitative and quantitative data for design decisions
• Leadership skills to inspire teams across functions

• Define and drive the design vision for key initiatives, aligning with company strategy and goals
• Establish design principles and standards for consistency and excellence
• Collaborate on future product and UX strategies

Design Execution And Innovation

• Lead complex, cross-functional projects from concept to completion
• Create high-fidelity prototypes and specifications
• Implement innovative design solutions leveraging emerging patterns and AI
• Advance design systems to be future-forward and efficient

Storytelling And Communication

• Articulate design concepts through compelling presentations
• Influence teams and leadership with storytelling
• Facilitate workshops and critiques for alignment

Mentorship And Influence

• Mentor and guide designers, fostering professional growth
• Establish thought leadership within the design community
• Promote adoption of best practices and innovative design approaches
