About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director with a strong background in fundraising and organizational leadership to drive its mission of supporting outdoor recreation, education, and interpretation programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the organization's operations, with a primary focus on growing revenue through a diverse portfolio of strategies, including major gifts, grants, and grassroots campaigns. This role requires a leader who can guide the organization toward greater financial independence, collaborate with the Board of Trustees, and manage budgets effectively. The Executive Director will also be the public spokesperson for the organization, engaging with the community, and ensuring that the activities align with the goals of the state government agency. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in leading a nonprofit organization or corporate foundation, a proven track record in fundraising, and excellent communication skills. The role demands a highly motivated individual with a passion for the outdoors and environmental stewardship, and experience in financial management, including budget development and oversight. Strong leadership, collaboration, and strategic planning skills are essential, as is the ability to work with diverse stakeholders. While not mandatory, exposure to working with state government agencies is considered helpful. The Executive Director will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with all nonprofit requirements, managing administrative functions, and overseeing the organization's growth and development.
