Job Description

The Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine ( ADLM ), a DC-based dynamic, international scientific/medical society of clinical laboratory professionals, physicians, and research scientists focused on clinical chemistry and related disciplines, is seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator . 

Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, the Accounts Payable Coordinator supports the finance team by managing accounts payable transactions and ensuring timely, accurate payments to staff and suppliers. The coordinator also processes cash disbursements and collaborates with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records. 

Specific Responsibilities include:

Accounts Payable 

· Processes approved invoices in cloud-based payables system per established procedures, paying within 30 days unless otherwise stated

· Ensures receipts for monthly corporate credit card statements are submitted and processed in the cloud-based expense system. Reconciles employee expense reports

· Reconciles prepaid and payable balance sheet accounts monthly

· Maintains and prepares 1099 forms in a timely manner

· Researches and resolves staff and vendor questions and concerns about accounts payable issues

· Provides training for new employees on cloud-based payables and expense systems

General Ledger

· Assists in month-end closing, journal entries, and allocations

· Completes balance sheet account reconciliations and other subsidiary ledgers as assigned

Other

· Travels to the ADLM Annual Meeting to provide accounting-related services

· Assists with other accounting functions and related special projects as required

· Assists with year-end audit

Requirements

· Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

· One to three years of general accounting experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Nonprofit accounting experience preferred. 

· Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite to include Excel and Outlook use for accounting purposes

· One year experience with accounting and payables systems (Sage Intacct and SAP Concur preferred)

· Demonstrated attention to detail, time management, and communication skills (verbal, listening, written)

ADLM currently is working a hybrid office schedule with the ability to work remotely from home up to three days a week.

Salary Description

$31.91 per hour
